We all loved Dobby the house-elf who risked everything to protect Harry, In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Loyal, selfless, and full of heart—Dobby became an unexpected symbol of love without conditions.
Fittingly, the dog in this story is also named Dobby. Whether the name was chosen for the resemblance or by chance, the parallel is uncanny.
This is the story of how one tiny pup rescued from a dangerous construction site, grew into a fiercely loyal companion who brought calm, routine, and unconditional affection—just when needed the most.

Dobby's story

"I have always been fond of dogs since I was a kid and knew that one day I would have a dog join me at home. I loved seeing them walk, play, and I loved petting them. Coming from Singapore, we didn’t have strays wandering the streets—most dogs were either store-bought or adopted.
When I moved to India back in 2022, a mutual friend invited me over to his place for lunch—and that’s when I met Dobby.
She was just a couple of months old. I started enquiring about her and found out that she had been discovered in a construction ditch outside the apartment complex, screaming for help. Luckily, my friend and a few security guards managed to get her out just in time before anything serious happened. Had it been another 24 hours, I don’t think Dobby would be here today.
Somehow, after that visit to my friend's place, I couldn’t stop thinking about Dobby—at the gym, while watching TV, exactly a week later form that date, I decided to adopt Dobby. Being an indie, sometimes she got rejected but I loved her the day I saw her; and indies, just like any other dogs, are brilliant and lovely.
I was nervous since it a big responsibility. I hadn’t really read up too much about vaccinations or breeds, etc., so I just went with the flow. Luckily, I had my friend who knew what to do and she helped me along the way.
As we settled In to a routine, things got easier and she is truly a gem. We do a lot of things together—go for walks, eat together, pray together, etc.,—and she’s family.
She has been there for me on my lowest days, and she's there when I’m happy. She doesn’t do much—just sits there—and somehow, it’s like she knows exactly what’s happening.
Dobby is a major part of my life. Wherever I go, I always ensure Dobby is part of the plan. When my wife and I recently got married, Dobby welcomed her—and that was amazing.
I don’t know if I would be who I am today if not for Dobby. I thank my lucky stars that she’s here with me.
Being a fitness enthusiast myself, I’ve always wanted to stay fit and healthy—and I wanted the same for Dobby. I came across Momo&Co randomly on Instagram and decided to try their food packs.
Dobby, being an indie, has higher immunity—but I still wanted to ensure she gets nutritious food. I spoke to Subha and found out that their food has a mix of veggies and meat, which is ideal for Dobby. I want to ensure that she gets enough protein, carbs, fats, and fiber.
Service-wise, I never had a complaint, food is always delivered on time, Dobby finishes every speck of food and I am glad to have Momo&Co be part of Dobby's life."
